Million Dollar Cream Cheese Garlic Dip
You don’t need a culinary degree to master this million-dollar dip recipe. It’s so easy, you can memorize the recipe just like that.
Don’t let the name fool you. The ingredients here are so basic, you’d think I was joking.
We all love house parties and entertaining guests. Planning the party itself can be a lot of work, with decorating and invites and so many other tasks.
For a delicious dip to be so simple and fuss-free, we’re wondering why we don’t have parties all the time.
MILLION DOLLAR DIP INGREDIENTS
This dip has gotten all of the right flavors: creamy, spicy, and salty. The ingredients you’ll need for a luxury experience are as follows:
- Cream Cheese- whipped
- Mayonnaise
- Colby Jack Cheese- shredded
- Green Onions- chopped
- Frozen Crushed Garlic
- Bacon- chopped
SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
CHEESE: Try swapping the cheddar cheese for other types of cheeses for different flavors in this creamy dip. You could try something like Monterey Jack if you aren’t keen on strong cheddar. Or even something like a blue cheese such as Dolcelatte or Stilton will be tasty.
BACON: Any bacon works well in this easy dip recipe, or you could swap it for something like cooked pancetta or prosciutto.
WHAT IS MILLION DOLLAR DIP?
The million-dollar dip is also called the Neiman Marcus dip. What does this dip have to do with a luxury department store? This delicious concoction used to be served at the Zodiac Room, a signature restaurant at Neiman Marcus.
This recipe was created by Helen Corbitt when she joined Neiman Marcus as their Food Services Director.
It’s a basic dip perfect for entertainment, parties, or, just for yourself. With mayo as the base, this mix of cheese, bacon, garlic, and green onion is simply genius. Today, it’s definitely a favorite at any party.
For this recipe, we added whipped cream cheese to give it more body and creaminess. The original recipe also calls for toasted almond slivers sprinkled on top.
You can add as you like, because some people may be allergic.
Another great garnish for serving is crispy, crunchy bacon bits on top.
HOW TO MAKE MILLION DOLLAR DIP
The taste of a million bucks will cost you...almost no time at all! Life is complicated enough, your appetizer or snack doesn’t have to be. This dip will take a mere 5 minutes to make.
First, take a large bowl and add all your ingredients. Then, mix, mix, mix! Make sure that everything is mixed evenly. Then, move it into a dip bowl. Before serving, I also like to garnish with a little more cheese, bacon bits, or chopped green onions.
And...that’s it! Serve your million-dollar dip immediately with your favorite snack dip companion.
Can I add chicken or sausage to this party dip?
You could add cooked chicken or sausage for added protein to this yummy dip.
Can I freeze this dip?
This copycat Neiman Marcus dip would not freeze well, and the cream cheese and mayo would not thaw well.
Can I make this creamy dip ahead of time?
This easy recipe can be made a day ahead of time. The longer it stays in the refrigerator, the more flavorful the dip will become.
HOW TO STORE MILLION DOLLAR DIP
So how do you store leftover dip, or make this dip ahead of time? Just as you would store anything else. Once you’ve transferred your dip into its container, cover your bowl of dip with plastic wrap. You can also skip the plastic wrap by using a container with a sealable lid.
Then, straight into the fridge it goes! It can last up to two days in the fridge, but I’m sure it’ll be gone before then.
From my experience, maybe you should make a few extra servings of this dip, just in case. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
