Ingredients
- 15.25 ounces chocolate cake mix Betty Crocker Super Moist Devil’s Food
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare an 8×8 pan by spraying it with cooking spray and lining it with parchment paper.
- Combine the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil, in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix the ingredients together until they are well combined.
- If you want to add chocolate chips, fold them into the mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake the brownies for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool for a few minutes before cutting them into squares.
Notes
- You can also make these brownies in a round pan. The baking time will be the same if you use an 8-inch round pan. If you use a 9-inch round or square pan, the brownies will be thinner and bake up a bit faster, so take 2 to 3 minutes off the total cooking time.
- If you don’t have parchment paper, just use pan spray. The parchment makes it easier to lift the chocolate brownies out of the pan.
- Oven temperatures vary and may need to be recalibrated periodically to ensure they are accurate. Make sure to check your brownies at the lower end of the recommended baking time.
