This Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls recipe was written with the Pillsbury Grands Original Cinnamon Rolls in mind. If you use a different brand, we suggest you buy one that is as close to weight and size as the Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls.
When adding the cinnamon rolls to your air fryer basket, you want to make sure that you don’t crowd the basket. If all of your cinnamon rolls don’t fit, you may need to cook your Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls in multiple batches. Be sure to leave a little bit of space between the rolls to allow the hot air to circulate.
These Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls were made using the COSORI 5.8-quart air fryer. If your brand of air fryer is different, then we would suggest you check your cinnamon rolls for doneness at the 12-minute mark and go from there.
How to Make Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls
FIRST STEP: Line the basket of your air fryer with a piece of parchment paper that is cut to fit. You do not need any cooking oil sprayed into the basket. The cinnamon rolls will not stick to the parchment paper.
SECOND STEP: Open your tube of cinnamon rolls, set your container of icing to the side, and pull apart the cinnamon rolls. Place the rolls into the parchment-lined air fryer basket leaving a little space between each roll.
THIRD STEP: Set your air fryer temperature to 330°F and your timer to 17 minutes. DO NOT PREHEAT your air fryer.
FOURTH STEP: Cook the cinnamon rolls for 9 minutes, carefully flip them over using a spatula or tongs, then cook for another 6 to 8 minutes. You will want to check them at the 6-minute mark to ensure they are not over-browning.
FIFTH STEP: Carefully remove the cinnamon rolls and place them onto a serving plate.
SIXTH STEP: In a small bowl, with a handheld mixer on medium, beat together the softened cream cheese, salt, and the reserved container of icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls. Beat for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until smooth and fluffy.
SEVENTH STEP: Divide the cream cheese icing evenly between the cinnamon rolls. I like to spread the icing just barely to the edges of each cinnamon roll so that it does not run down the sides of the warm rolls.
EIGHTH STEP: You can sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon onto the tops of each cinnamon roll for added flavor and garnish.
Does the air fryer cook the cinnamon rolls better than the oven?
Air fryers are a great alternative to using the regular oven for many reasons! Air fryer recipes tend to cook faster than in the oven, don’t warm up the kitchen the way a regular oven would, and make clean-up a snap.
Does this recipe work with any size of cinnamon rolls?
Yes! This easy cinnamon rolls recipe would be fine with any size of cinnamon rolls. Keep in mind that you will need to adjust your cooking time based on our recommendations above, depending on the size.
Can I freeze these sweet rolls?
Air fryer Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are best served fresh and we don’t recommend freezing them.
How to Store Air Fryer Cinnamon Roll
IN THE FRIDGE: Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls do not keep well after baking. We recommend keeping them in their original packaging in the refrigerator until ready to cook and serve.
