This biscuit recipe is easy to follow with delectably savory results. Butter, of course, is the star of any worthwhile biscuit recipe, but these are far from plain. Seasonings like garlic powder, parsley, and chives complement the cheddar and bacon.
A whole tablespoon of baking powder causes quite a rise, which means more yummy biscuit bites! Fresh biscuits can be whipped up in less than 30 minutes.
Cook up some bacon and chop some for the biscuit batter and save a few slices to make a sandwich or serve on the side.
How to Make Bacon Cheddar Biscuits
FIRST STEP: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
SECOND STEP: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
THIRD STEP: In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt.
FOUR STEP: Add in melted butter, chives, and milk. Stir well to mix.
TIP: When melting stick butter in the microwave, remove from butter wrapper, place in a small microwave bowl, and place the butter wrapper over the top of the bowl. This helps contain any butter splatter.
FIFTH STEP: Stir in shredded cheese and bacon pieces just until mixed.
SIXTH STEP: Using a large cookie scoop, ¼ cup size, scoop out the dough onto the parchment paper making 12 biscuits about 1 inch apart.

SEVENTH STEP: Bake 15 – 17 minutes until the tops are lightly browned.
EIGHTH STEP: Using a small bowl mix all topping ingredients together and spoon evenly over the tops of each warm biscuit.
NINTH STEP: Let biscuits cool for about 10 minutes on the baking sheet before removing them as they’ll continue to bake a bit on the warm tray after you remove them from the oven.
TENTH STEP: Serve warm.
Cooking Tips
When melting stick butter in the microwave, remove from butter wrapper, place in a small microwave bowl and place the butter wrapper over the top of the bowl. This helps contain any butter splatter.
Spoon the flour when measuring and level it to ensure the correct amount. Too much flour will result in dense biscuits.
Bacon cheddar biscuits are best served warm.
Storing this Recipe
IN THE FRIDGE: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
IN THE FREEZER: Once cooled, place biscuits on a freezer tray and freeze until hardened. Transfer to a freezer bag and store for up to 3 months. Thaw on the counter or in the fridge before reheating. NOTE: Placing biscuits on a tray then transferring to a bag helps the biscuits not stick together while freezing.
