Honey Garlic Pork Chops Ingredients
- Pork chops - boneless pork chops
- Salt
- Pepper

- Garlic - cloves garlic minced
- Oil - olive oil
- Butter - unsalted butter
- Honey
- Chicken broth
- Soy sauce

While this recipe calls for boneless pork chops, you can also use bone-in chops. You can either remove the bone by cutting it out before cooking or adjust the cook time by adding an extra few minutes. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the temperature is at least 155°F near the bone to ensure the chops are thoroughly cooked.
In addition to the chicken broth, you could also use vegetable, bone, or beef broth for this pork chop recipe. Any brand of broth will work, including both regular or low-sodium broth, and you could even make your own.
For a slightly different twist, try substituting the honey with real maple syrup. This will give your finished pork chops a slightly different sticky sweetness.
How to Make Honey Garlic Pork Chops
FIRST STEP: In a small bowl combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Whisk together. Season both sides of each pork chop with the entire mixture.
SECOND STEP: In a medium mixing bowl combine honey, chicken broth, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, and cayenne pepper. Whisk together and set aside.
THIRD STEP: In a non-stick skillet over medium heat add olive oil and butter. Add pork chops and sear until browned. Flip the pork chops over and sear the other side.
FOURTH STEP: Once both sides are seared add the garlic to the pan and let cook for 30 to 45 seconds. Add honey mixture to the skillet and move pork chops around in the pan to coat in sauce on both sides.
FIFTH STEP: Let the sauce simmer until it reduces and turns a nice amber color. This takes about 15 minutes. Turn pork chops over every 5 minutes while the sauce is cooking.
SIXTH STEP: When the pork chops reach about 155 degrees when tested with a meat thermometer, then turn up the temperature of the burner to medium heat and bring the sauce to a fast, rolling boil until it finishes reducing and is thicker.
SEVENTH STEP: Garnish the pork chops with fresh parsley and serve.
