Spaghetti Tacos are a creative fusion of delicious Italian and Mexican flavors. And they’re so simple to make! Crispy taco shells, loaded with a traditional spaghetti and some taco seasoning, covered with cheese!
If any of your family members watched the Nickelodeon classic “iCarly”, they most definitely remember the spaghetti tacos invented by Carly’s older brother Shay. Spaghetti tacos were a staple in the series, appearing regularly at dinners as well in cooking segments on Carly’s webshow “iCarly”.
These Spaghetti Tacos take only 40 minutes to make, start to finish, and make up to 15 servings! This easy weeknight meal is a fun mash-up recipe that the whole family will enjoy.
Spaghetti Tacos Ingredients
- Noodles - spaghetti noodles
- Ground beef - lean ground beef
- Taco seasoning - mild taco seasoning
- Water
- Spaghetti sauce - your favorite brand
- Taco shells - hard taco shells
- Tomato - Roma tomato, optional garnish
- Parmesan cheese - grated parmesan cheese, optional garnish
If traditional spaghetti pasta isn’t your favorite, you can swap it for angel hair, fettuccine, or linguine pasta. Any type of long pasta will work!
For a quicker cooking time, try cooking the ground beef ahead of time. Then make sure to break the ground beef into small pieces. You don’t want large chunks in your spaghetti tacos!
You can add some of your favorite taco garnishes to these Spaghetti Tacos to really take them to the next level. Try adding salsa instead of a traditional pasta sauce. Or guacamole and jalapenos to punch up the Mexican flavors!
How to Make Spaghetti Tacos
FIRST STEP: Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
SECOND STEP: Add the ground beef to a 5 to 6-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook uncovered, stirring often, until the ground beef is completely cooked through and no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
THIRD STEP: Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the cooked ground beef. Pour the ½ cup of water over the taco seasoning and stir well to combine completely. Lower the heat to medium and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes, stirring often.
FOURTH STEP: Lower the stovetop heat to low. Add in the 2 cups of spaghetti sauce. Stir to combine.

FIFTH STEP: Space the taco shells evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove the shells from the oven and set them aside.
SIXTH STEP: Once the spaghetti sauce mixture is heated through, remove the pan from the heat.
SEVENTH STEP: Add the cooked spaghetti noodles to the meat sauce mixture, and using tongs, stir the noodles and sauce together until all the noodles are completely coated.
EIGHTH STEP: Fill the standing taco shells ⅔ to ¾ full, about ⅓ to ½ cup. Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and the diced tomatoes. Serve while hot.
Can I use a different type of ground meat?
These Spaghetti Tacos would be great with whatever your favorite type of ground meat is. Whatever you choose, whether that's ground pork, ground turkey, or ground chicken, your Spaghetti Tacos will still be delicious!
Can I use a different type of noodle?

- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese optional garnish
