Sweet iced coffee drinks are always a delicious way to treat yourself. Iced mocha features your favorite coffee blended with a chocolatey sweet syrup, a splash of milk, and poured over ice for the perfect coffee concoction.
Serve your iced mocha with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle for a truly indulgent treat. It also pairs wonderfully with a pastry like coffee cake or a slice of copycat Starbucks Lemon Loaf.
Easy to make in just 5 minutes, you can skip the local coffee shop and spoil yourself right in your own kitchen. This satisfying cold drink is full of creamy and sweet coffee goodness, and only needs a handful of simple ingredients.
Iced Mocha Ingredients
- Simple Syrup
- Cocoa powder
- Cream - or milk
- Ice
- Coffee - cold pre-brewed coffee, instant coffee, or instant espresso
You can use your favorite coffee for this recipe, whether that cold pre-brewed coffee, instant coffee, or instant espresso. You can also use your favorite flavored coffee, as long as it pairs well with the chocolate flavor of the mocha syrup.
To keep your mocha from becoming watered down, instead of regular ice you could make coffee ice cubes in an ice cube tray to use for this recipe. Another option is to serve this drink warm by leaving out the ice and using hot brewed coffee.
By adding extra milk to your glass you can turn your iced mocha into an iced mocha latte. If you want a dairy-free option, substitute non-dairy creamer or non-dairy milks such as soy, almond, or coconut milk in place of the milk in this mocha iced coffee.
How to Make Iced Mocha

Iced Mocha Coffee Instructions:
SECOND STEP: Fill mug or glass sized mug with ice
THIRD STEP: Add Mocha Syrup and cream
THIRD STEP: Fill remainder with cold pre-brewed coffee, instant coffee, or instant espresso.
FIFTH STEP: Stir well.
SIXTH STEP: If a sweeter version is wanted, add 1-2 teaspoons of raw or white sugar.
How do you make simple syrup?
To make the simple syrup simply combine 1 part water and 1 part sugar in a saucepan on the stove on medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves. Then allow it to cool before using. Simple syrup can be stored in a mason jar to use when your recipes call for it.
How do you make cold brew coffee?
Using coarse coffee grounds, combine with water and let it steep for about 12 hours. Pour coffee through a strainer and voilà, you have cold brew coffee. This method pulls all of the good stuff from the beans but leaves the compounds that can make coffee bitter. It produces a smooth, almost sweet coffee that is perfect for iced drinks. You can make the cold brew at room temperature and then store the cold brew concentrate in the fridge once it is made.
Can I double this recipe?
Certainly! Make as many servings as you want by simply putting the same ingredient amounts into each glass.
How to Store Iced Mocha
IN THE FRIDGE: This coffee recipe is best enjoyed right away, but you can store any leftover brewed coffee or leftover mocha syrup in the fridge. The mocha syrup can be stored in an airtight container, mason jar, or squeeze bottle in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
MAKE-AHEAD: Brewed coffee can be made ahead of time and then kept in the fridge for up to a week, making this coffee drink even quicker to put together.

Can I use a blender to make this? Do I need to add anything additional to make it a thick blended drink? Thank you!!!

Hi, Lynn - we haven't tested blending it all together, but I would assume that would work ok. Enjoy!
