Red Robin Campfire Sauce

Table of Contents
This is the sauce that makes Red Robin's fries dangerous. You know the one - it's that smoky, creamy dip that somehow makes everything taste better, and you've probably wished you could take a tub of it home with you.
Good news: you can make it yourself in about two minutes with three ingredients. Mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, and a little chili powder are all it takes.
Once it's mixed, it's hard to stop dipping. Fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, whatever you've got.

Ingredients For Copycat Red Robin Campfire Sauce

What you'll need to make Red Robin Campfire Sauce at home:
The barbecue sauce you choose makes a bigger difference than you'd think. Stubb's Hickory Bourbon got me the closest to the real thing.
- ⅔ cup mayonnaise – Kraft Real Mayo is the brand I used.
- ½ cup Hickory Bourbon BBQ sauce – Stubb's brand is what gave me the closest match to Red Robin's flavor.
- ⅛ teaspoon chili powder – Just a pinch adds a little warmth and depth without making the sauce spicy.
Can't find Stubbs? Any hickory or brown-sugar-style barbecue sauce will get you close. Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar is a good, easy-to-find option, or use whatever smoky BBQ sauce you already have in the fridge.
How to Make Red Robin Campfire Sauce
This is a simple, stir-together recipe.
Add the mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, and chili powder to a small bowl and stir until fully combined. That's it. Transfer to a serving dish and dig in.

You can double or even triple this recipe if you want. Put any extra sauce in a jar or an airtight container and store it in the fridge. Eat it over the course of a week for the best flavor and texture.

Fries and onion rings are the obvious choices, but this sauce is good on more than that. Try it with pretzel bites or homemade soft pretzels for a snack that disappears fast. Sweet potato fries are another good pairing. The sweetness plays really well with the smoky barbecue flavor.
