Never Think About What to Make for Dinner for the Next Two Months with My Lazy Cooking Bundle
Doritos Cool Ranch Tuna Noodle Casserole has the perfect combination of egg noodles, cream of mushroom soup, peas, cheese, and of course Cool Ranch Doritos. It’s kid friendly and mom approved!
This easy casserole recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, weekends when you have friends over, or anytime you want a creamy delicious family friendly pasta recipe for dinner.
WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU NEED TO MAKE DORITOS COOL RANCH TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE
You’ll be surprised to see just how basic and easy this recipe is. Egg noodles bring the perfect texture, while the Velveeta cheese adds a creamy flavor like no other. Add the Doritos on top for a nice crunch that you’ll fall in love with.
Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- egg noodles, wide
- cream of mushroom soup
- Albacore Tuna in water, flaked apart with a fork
- whole milk
- Better Than Bouillon, Chicken Flavor
- ground black pepper
- can peas and carrots, drained
- Velveeta Cheese, cut into small cubes
- Cool Ranch Doritos, crushed
INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
NOODLES: This recipe calls for wide egg noodles, but regular egg noodles can be used instead. Although I’ve never tried any other pasta in this recipe, rotini or penne would work well too.
CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP: We’ve tied a few different combinations of creamed soups in this recipe. While Cream of Mushroom has the best flavor, cream of chicken or even cream of celery would work if that’s what you have on hand.
MILK: Whole milk can be swapped out for 2%, or even half and half depending on how creamy you want it. Of course 2% will make it more liquid in consistency, while whole or half and half will give it a creamier feel.
PEAS AND CARROTS: Canned peas and carrots are the easy way to go for this recipe, but you could always use frozen too! I wouldn’t recommend using fresh peas and carrots, as they would not have time to cook and soften while in the oven for only 20 minutes.
CHEESE: Velveeta Cheese that is cut into small cubes is the best way to make this Cheesy Doritos Cool Ranch Tuna Noodle Casserole, but we understand not everyone is a fan of Velveeta. Feel free to use colby jack, montery jack, or even just straight cheddar in this recipe instead. Just make sure to use enough that you still have an overload of cheese when you dish it up.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE THIS CHEESY DORITOS TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE
FIRST STEP: In a large pot cook the egg noodles per package directions. Drain and set aside.
SECOND STEP: In a small sauce pan boil your peas per package directions. Drain and set aside.
THIRD STEP: In a large bowl combine your cream of mushroom soup, albacore tuna, milk, Better than Bouillon Chicken Flavor, and ground pepper. Stir together.
FOURTH STEP: Add the drained noodles, peas, and 1/2 of the Velveeta cubes. Stir Well.
FIFTH STEP: Place combined mixture into a 9×13 casserole dish and top with the remaining Velveeta cubes. Make sure the entire casserole is pretty much covered evenly with cheese cubes.
