Banana Pudding Cookies are so incredibly soft, chewy, and melt in your mouth! They have the perfect combination of regular cookie ingredients, a dry banana pudding mix, and white chocolate chips! They are kid-friendly and mom approved!
This easy dessert recipe is perfect for holidays, cookie exchanges, or anytime you want a sweet and delicious cookie recipe to eat.
You’ll be surprised to see just how basic and easy this recipe is. It uses a secret ingredient - Instant Banana Pudding that turns these cookies into something spectacular!
I promise you won't be disappointed with this recipe.
BANANA PUDDING COOKIES INGREDIENTS
- Butter
- Light brown sugar
- White sugar
- Instant banana cream pudding- dry mix only
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Baking Soda
- Flour
- White chocolate chips
SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
PUDDING MIX: If you aren't feeling banana cookies today then feel free to mix it up. You can make whatever flavor cookies your heart desires. Chocolate Chip Vanilla Pudding Cookies are a delicious alternative to this banana recipe!
CHOCOLATE CHIPS: This recipe uses white chocolate chips to compliment the banana flavors that run throughout the cookie, but you could always use milk chocolate instead. I haven't tried it yet so make sure to leave a comment below if you make this change. I'd love to know what you think!
HOW TO MAKE THESE BANANA COOKIES
FIRST STEP: Combine the flour and baking soda in a medium mixing bowl and set aside.
SECOND STEP: In a separate large mixing bowl cream your butter and sugars together using a hand mixer.
THIRD STEP: Add in the dry pudding mix and continue to beat with the hand mixer until well blended.
FOURTH STEP: Add your eggs and vanilla and beat with the hand mixer until smooth and no lumps remain.
FIFTH STEP: Combine your wet and dry mixture, and stir together with a wooden spoon. Add the white chocolate chips and gently fold them together.
SIXTH STEP: Roll into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
SEVENTH STEP: Bake these cookies at 350°F for 8-9 minutes. You want to take them out of the oven before they start to brown. I've found that 8 minutes is usually perfect, 9 minutes at the most. You want these cookies slightly undercooked.

These are delicious! Thought the batter looked dry, but once you start rolling, they are moist. Next time I will def try Banana Extract OR Coconut!
Wondering if these freeze well. I made a double batch which gave me 95 cookies! I can use some for my grad party next week if they freeze well??

Mosley says
Omg I made these. Mine may not have been as flat as the ones pictured but I loved them. I took half of my batch to work and they want more. Thank you for the post,
Shaelyn says

I wonder if you can use real bananas instead of banana pudding
Layne Henderson says
Hi, Chuck - we haven't tested it like that so I'm not sure if it would work!
Jaime says
Omg sooo yummy!!!🤩 Instead of 3.4oz of banana cream pudding mix I used the whole 5.1oz box I purchased and it made for a more banana flavor! Thank you so much for this recipe its definitely a BIG HIT!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Vonda Kelley says
Shauna, I just made these and they were very, very good. My husband already stole one and went hiding. Just enough banana flavor, followed the recipe to the letter. Will be going on my rotation when my grandkids are coming for a visit..Thank you!
Rita says
Omg I love these cookies even my co-workers like them they think it's my recipe but it's not so I'm going to give ur recipe to my co-works if that's OK
cat says
not a real strong bananna flavor, just a hint - if i didn't know it was a bananna cookie don't know that i would have guessed that - which, was perfect for me as i don't care for bananna desserts... that being said, these were delicious! i couldn't get the crumbs to stay on top of the dough balls so rolled them in the crumbs and worked perfectly!
Johanna Knuth says
Omg my mouth was watering soon as I looked at the pictures.
Debbie says
Well I thought it said 13.4 oz of pudding mix. So that is what I used lol. We will see how they turn out. It says 1- 3.4 oz whoops
P. Martinez says
My grandkids love them & so do I,thank you.
Zoey says
My Dad has been searching for the perfect banana cookie, so I made these for him for Veterans Day and he says they’re the best banana cookies he has ever had! I have to agree. They are amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Erica says
Just made these for a family reunion but mine stayed in balls and didn’t spread like a usual cookie. I swapped the white sugar for Monkfruit, used Sugar-free pudding mix, and unsalted butter. I think next time I’ll use baking powder instead of baking soda. The recipe was easy to follow and the banana flavor is so good.
Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Ernest Smith says
Love it
Ed Billo says
Add some Pecans or Walnuts and these will be even better.
Jill says
Everyone at work LOVED these. I did banana pudding with choc chips and they were a big hit. This time I made strawberry pudding (yes, they make such a thing) and confetti chips and root beer pudding (who would have thunk) and white chocolate. All a huge hit. Tonight I'm going to try coconut pudding with coconut flakes instead of chocolate chips and chocolate pudding with chocolate chips. I also want to try butterscotch pudding with butterscotch chips. I don't think you can go wrong with these cookies. They are my favorite ever! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!
Rebecca Morris says
Soooo easy and very yummy!
Monica says

How many cookies does this recipe make?
Shauna {The Best Blog Recipes} says
Hi Marianne, It's been a while since I've made this particular recipe but I believe it was just over 2 dozen.... depending on how big you make them though. I made these on the smaller side so I could send them with my hubby to work as treats;)

MarkettaB says
Salted or unsalted butter?
Shauna says
Hi! I use salted for everything because that's what my kids eat. Usually for baking I'd recommend unsalted but I know for a fact that I used salted on this recipe. If you do use unsalted let us know how it turns out. I'm sure other readers have the same question!
Tabbitha says
O made these this morning, I did add a half of a very ripe banana. They were wonderful.
Donna Currin says
Hello. For the banana pudding cookies is it 135 g box or banana ream pudding
Yessi says
1 3.4 ounce instant banana cream pudding dry mix only is the 96g box
Stacy says
I really liked this recipe. The first time I made them, I used unsalted butter and followed the recipe exactly. I liked them, but wanted more banana oomph.
The second time I made them I added salt to the flour mixture. I also used the 5.1 ounce box of pudding mix and eliminated the white sugar to compensate for the extra sweetness. They were on the chewy side, but I like that.
Kym Bozarth says
